Redwood Viscometer About

Redwood Viscometer:

Our range of Redwood Viscometer are designed for viscosity tests of petroleum products. These confirm to requirements of IP 70. In addition, we have two kinds of redwood viscometer with different functions. Our one range is used for liquids having red wood flow 20 seconds to 2000 seconds and the other is used for liquids whose flow time exceeds 2000 seconds.

Further, our range comprises of the following:

  • Hammer finished stainless steel both with electrical heating arrangement suitable to operate at 220 volts
  • AC mains with tap
  • Silver plated oil cup with precision stainless steel jet
  • Cup cover
  • Ball valve
  • Thermometer clip
  • Stirrer and M.S. sheet stand with leveling screws

Precision Engineered for Petroleum Testing

Designed for laboratory and industrial applications, the Redwood Viscometer delivers accurate viscosity measurements for oils and petroleum fluids. Its brass construction ensures durability, while the included thermometer and stopwatch facilitate precise test execution. This instrument supports manual control, making it both versatile and reliable for quality control in petroleum testing environments.

User-Friendly Operation & Maintenance

The viscometer is fitted with an analog display, comprehensive manual controls, and a manual stirrer, providing hands-on accuracy. The powder-coated body and cloth cover contribute to its longevity and ease of maintenance. With all essential accessories included, it remains a cost-effective and efficient choice for repeated use.

FAQs of Redwood Viscometer:

Q: How is the viscosity measured using the Redwood Viscometer?

A: The Redwood Viscometer measures viscosity by recording the time taken for a set volume (50 ml) of oil or petroleum fluid to flow through a standard brass jet at controlled temperatures, using an analog graduated scale and the included stopwatch for manual timing.

Q: What is the typical process for conducting a viscosity test with this instrument?

A: Start by pouring the sample into the brass cup, adjust the oil bath temperature with the immersion heater, and monitor using the included thermometer. Once stabilized, manually stir the sample, release it through the drain tube, and use the stopwatch to measure the flow time, which is then used to determine viscosity.

Q: When should I use the manual stirrer during testing?

A: The manual stirrer should be used to ensure homogeneity of the oil sample before initiating the test. Proper stirring helps avoid inconsistencies due to temperature gradients or sample separation, ensuring accurate results.

Q: Where can this viscometer be installed for use?

A: The Redwood Viscometer is a benchtop model intended for laboratory settings, quality control rooms, or petroleum testing facilities. It requires access to a 230 V AC, 50 Hz power supply and should be operated in areas maintaining 3075% relative humidity and ambient to 100C temperature conditions.

Q: What types of samples are compatible with the viscometer?

A: The instrument is compatible with oils and petroleum fluids as specified in related testing standards, making it suitable for the quality analysis of various lubricants, fuels, and similar petroleum products.

Q: How does maintaining the viscometer ensure reliable operation?

A: Routine cleaning of the brass components, regular checking of the analog display and thermometer, and proper storage with the cloth cover help maintain low maintenance needs and ensure long-term accuracy and performance of the viscometer.

Q: What are the key benefits of using this Redwood Viscometer model?

A: Users benefit from its accurate measurements (2% full scale), wide test range, robust brass construction, user-friendly manual controls, and easy maintenanceideal for regular petroleum testing in industrial and laboratory environments.
