Heat Of Hydration Of Cement

Price: 100 INR/Unit

Heat Of Hydration Of Cement The chemical reaction that takes place between the cement and water is referred as hydration of the cement. The hydration reaction is an exothermic reaction. The cement hydration will liberate a considerable amount of heat. This is called as Heat of liberation or Heat of Hydration. The mixing of cement with water will result in rapid evolution of heat that will last for few minutes. This evolution of heat is probably due to the reaction of a solution of aluminates and the sulfates. This rapid heat and reaction are depressed by the addition of gypsum. The Early heat of hydration is due to the hydration of C3S. The hydration process is not instantaneous. The reaction is faster in the early stages and will go decreasing with the time period. It is observed that the complete hydration is possible only for cement particles that have a particle size smaller than 50 microns. With the increase in the fineness, there is an increase in the rate of hydration. Technical Specification Consists of a Dewar vessel, which is located in an insulation wooden box, an electrically driven stirrer with constant speed Funnel (Dewar vessel can be easily removed from the wooden box and replaced) Dimensions: 350 x 250 x 680 mm Power: 230V / 50Hz Does not include: Thermometer and stirring rod

LE Chatelier Mould

Price: 10 INR/Piece

LE Chatelier Mould MTCT-13 Cement of good quality does not contain the impurities like free lime, magnesia and sulphates, so this should be checked before use. When it contains the impurities named above, it can expand after reacted with the water, which will result in the unwanted results like, cracking, unwanted expansion of the dimensions and lower strength. Prepare a cement paste of 78% of standard consistency of the cement, and fill it into the split brass cylinder. Cover the top and bottom of the cylinder and put it in water at 27 degrees Celsius for 24 hours. After 24 hours, measure the separation between the two indicators at their pointed ends. Then heat the whole water and immersed cylinder with paste up to a boiling temperature in 30-35 minutes and then boiling for 3 hours. After cooling it down, again measure the separation between the two pointers. Technical Specification Temperature 27 ï 2 C Humidity 65 ï 5 % Volume expansion in cement mortar or in cement concrete is caused by the presence of UN burnt lime (CaO), dead burnt MgO and also CaSO4. By Le-chatelier method we can only find out presence of un burnt lime (CaO). Presence of UN burnt lime may develop cracks in the cement because of increase in volume. Free lime (CaO) and magnesia (MgO) are known to react with water very slowly and increase in volume considerably, which result in cracking, distortion and disintegration Two parallel demonstrating arms with pointed closures are connected.

Teknik Humidifier

Price: 100 INR/Piece

Humidifier MTCT-10 The process in which the moisture or water vapor or humidity is added to the air without changing its dry bulb (DB) temperature is called as humidification process. This process is represented by a straight vertical line on the Psychometric chart starting from the initial value of relative humidity, extending upwards and ending at the final value of the relative humidity. In actual practice the pure humidification process is not possible, since the humidification is always accompanied by cooling or heating of the air. Humidification process along with cooling or heating is used in number of air conditioning applications. Let us see how these processes are obtained and how they are represented on the Psychometric chart. Air Entrainment Meter

Price: 100 INR/Unit

Air Entrainment Meter: MTCT-102 Air content of fresh concrete is normally measured, by the use of a special air meter, to assess whether the concrete contains the required amount of air. This would be measured when air„s entrapment or entrainment is required by the concrete design. The method uses the principle of replacing the air in a known volume of concrete with water, the volume of which can then be measured. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION The apparatus consists of a pressure tight flanged cylindrical measuring bowl of specified volume in accordance with size of aggregate to be tested. The bowl is fitted with a removable flanged conical cover assembly with the help of a airtight sealing gasket. The conical cover has an air valve and a pet cock for bleeding off the water. A transparent cylindrical stand pipe, which is graduated in air content, is fixed to the conical cover assembly. Pressure is applied to the specimen with the help of pressure bulb and the pressure is recorded on the pressure gauge which is mounted on the stand pipe. The whole assembly is mounted on a flat base.

Accelerated Curing Tank

Price: 100 INR/Unit

Accelerated Curing Tank: MTCT-101 The strength of concrete is generally estimated after 28 days by crushing field test cubes or cylinders made from the representative concrete used for the structure. The utility of ascertaining strength after 28 days is often questioned since by this time considerable concrete would have been placed and work may have progressed. It is then rather too late for remedial measures. It is therefore of tremendous advantage to predict 28 days strength within a few hours of casting the concrete so that, we have a good idea about the strength of the concrete. The rate of gain of strength of concrete depends on the reaction rate of cement and additions with water (Hydration). In common with all chemical reactions, the rate of reaction depends on reaction of temp. Higher reaction temperature gives higher rate of reaction e.g. the concrete gains strength more rapidly when it„s temp. is higher. Accelerated curing is the process by which the temperature of the concrete is raised artificially by applying external heat to speed up the rate of gain in strength. The test method covers procedures for curing test specimens of concrete stored under conditions intended to accelerate the development of strength. The procedures are: Procedure A- Warm Water Method, Procedure B-Boiling Water Method. Specification Accelerated Curing Tank Accelerated Curing Tank having capacity to accommodate 6/12/18 Concrete Cubes of 150mm size with a facility for accelerated curing by Boiling water method up to temperature range: 100 +/- 2 deg.C It will have capacity for curing by warm water method at temperature 55 +/- 2 deg.C Tank will consist of a rectangular double walled metal cabinet, inside lined with stainless steel, outer powder coated. Easily replaceable high Wattage heaters are mounted inside the chamber. A slow speed stirrer is provided to circulate water inside the chamber to maintain the uniform temperature of water. The Blaine apparatus draws a defined volume of air through a prepared bed of cement of defined porosity. The Blaine air-permeability apparatus consists essentially of a means of drawing a definite quantity of air through a prepared bed of cement of definite porosity. The number and size of the pores in a prepared bed of definite porosity is a function of the size of the particles and determines the rate of airflow through the bed. The apparatus illustrated. Technical Specification Fineness of cement has a great effect on the rate of hydration and hence the rate of gain of strength. Fineness of cement increases the rate of evolution of heat. Finer cement offers a great surface area for hydration and hence faster the development of strength. Increase in fineness of cement also increases the drying shrinkage of concrete and hence creates cracks in structures. Excessive fineness requirement increases cost of grinding. Excessive fine cement requires more water for hydration, resulting reduced strength and durability. Fineness of cement affects properties like gypsum requirement, workability of fresh concrete & long term behavior of structure. Coarse cement particles settle down in concrete which causes bleeding. Approximately 95% of cement particles are smaller than 45 micrometers, with the average particle around 15 micrometers. In the early 1900s, cement fineness was expressed as the mass of cement per fractional size (percent weight retained on specific sieve sizes). Now a day„s fineness is usually measured by the Blaine air-permeability test that indirectly measures the surface area of the cement particles per unit mass. Cements with finer particles have more surface area in m2 per kg of cement.
