About Devil Abbrasion Testing Machine

Devil abbrasion testing machine

For the determination of resistance of aggregate to wear by abrasion. Two hollow cylinders, closed at one end and provided with tightly fitting covers at the other end. The inside diameter of the cylinder 20 cms and 34 cms depth. The cylinders are mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 with the axis of rotation. The shaft rotates at 30-33 rpm through a reduction gear, coupled to a motor. Suitable for operation on 440 volts, three phase, 50 cycles, AC supply. Supplied complete with a counter and push button starter. With 12 nos cast iron spheres or steel spheres (steel balls) hardened, approx. 48 mm in diameter, each weighing 380-445.

Rugged Construction for Reliable Performance

Crafted from premium mild steel and finished with a protective powder coating, the Devil Abrasion Testing Machine is built to last. Its robust construction withstands daily wear and tear, making it suitable for intense usage in soil testing laboratories. The heavy-duty components, including the abrasion drum and motor, contribute to consistent and accurate results for every test.

Precise Soil Abrasion Analysis

Utilizing a rotational drum abrasion method, this machine simulates real-world abrasion on samples ranging from 50 mm to 70 mm. Its analog display and semi-automatic operation allow seamless control and monitoring. With an accuracy of 1% and a measurement capacity up to 20 kg, it provides dependable soil abrasion data to support engineering studies and material assessments.

FAQs of Devil Abbrasion Testing Machine:

Q: How does the Devil Abrasion Testing Machine operate?

A: The machine employs the rotational drum abrasion technique, where a single abrasion wheel cycles samples between 30-33 rpm. The soil sample is placed in the abrasion drum, and the machine, powered by a reliable motor, subjects it to controlled wear analysis, delivering accurate data via an analog display.

Q: What types of samples can be tested with this machine?

A: You can test soil specimens with diameters ranging from 50 mm to 70 mm and weight up to 20 kg. This versatility makes the device suitable for various soil testing scenarios in geotechnical and construction labs.

Q: When should I use the Devil Abrasion Testing Machine in my testing process?

A: Use this device during the abrasion assessment phase of soil testing, typically after sampling preparation and before conducting compressive or other strength-related tests. It accurately simulates real-world abrasion, helping determine material durability.

Q: Where is the Devil Abrasion Testing Machine commonly used?

A: This equipment is primarily used in geotechnical labs, research institutions, civil engineering departments, and soil testing facilities throughout India and abroad, wherever robust soil analysis is required.

Q: What is the procedure for conducting a test using this machine?

A: Place your prepared sample inside the abrasion drum, set the desired operating parameters, and start the motor. The sample undergoes abrasion at a controlled speed (30-33 rpm) until the process concludes. The analog display provides real-time progress and results.

Q: What are the main benefits of using the Devil Abrasion Testing Machine?

A: Key benefits include its heavy-duty construction for long-term reliability, high measurement accuracy (1%), simple operation, and the ability to handle a range of sample sizes and weights for versatile soil testing needs.
