  • Bomb Calorimeter Outfit gives a simple and economical method for determining heat of combustion of organic matter as well as the calorific value and sulphur content of solid & liquid fuel. The provided outfit is complete for analysis according to the method recommended by British Standard Institution. All specifications laid down by Institute of Petroleum and British Standard Institute are followed in the finishing of all parts of the outfit. The essential accessories offered include the bomb calorimeter vessel with bomb support, stirrer, water jacket, electronic firing unit with digital backman thermometer, etc.

Testing of Bomb :
Testing of bomb is done in the factory in line with the requirement of the Institute of Petroleum and a Works certificate is provided with each . This certificate gives the hydraulic testing results under a pressure of 300 atmospheres (4400 p.s.i), maintained for ten minutes without any leakage sign. The maximum deformation must not surpass specified limits.

Calorimeter Vessel :
Copper made vessel is Chromium plated or S.S. The bomb support allows for proper positioning of Bomb in the vessel.

Water Jacket :
The copper made outer container of Jacket is chromium plated, both inside and outside or S.S. An ebonite cover closes it. To make a connection from the firing control, a terminal block is fitt3r to the container.

Offset Stirrer :
The stirring mechanism creates turbulence needed for effective stirring, while imparting no heat to the calorimeter water. The impeller stirrer is driven at constant speed of 800 r.p.m. The offset arrangement in which the motor drives the impeller via a belt prevents any heat transference possibility between motor and calorimeter vessel contents.

Electronic Firing Unit with Digital Backman Thermometer:
For firing a calorimeter Bomb AC supply main (230 Volts 50 Cycles). The two main parts include Electronic Box and Electrical Box for Digital Thermometer Reading. With the electrical box comes terminals for the fuse wire and socket for stirrer. The unit allows testing of open circuit or firing wire resistance. Right hand side bulb indicates open circuit, while the left side bulb indicates the continuity.

Crucible:
Several kinds of crucible are supplied with the outfit being a stainless steel crucible of 8 ml capacity, that fits in the standard support ring given with the outfit.
