About 4 pillar Compression Testing Machine

Compression Testing Machine (Four Pillar Nut Model)Hand cum Electrical Operated:

  • The load frame is made up of high quality steel construction with a fixed. Upper lead carrying a ball seated platen. 4 pillars are fixed to the base and the top plate of the loading frame. The upper and lower plates are adjusted with the help of head screw on either side of the pillar. The ram dia of the machine varies from the requirements of the customer.
  • The lower pattern are at the base of the frame above the ram and it is rectangular in shape. Sufficient clearance is provided between the platens to fit in the cylindrical/ cube moulds.
  • Spacer provided to adjust cubes and cylinders. A 20 cm dia pressure gauge with maximum load induction pointer is fitted on the top panel and in turn is connected to the hydraulic pressure pipe.
  • On the right hand a console is fitted within which the electrical motor is fitted alongwith its coupling which inturn is connected to the pumping unit. A slow / fast loading rate regulator fixed on the top of the console for adjusting the rate of loading.  The machine is duly calibrated and passed after inspecting and analyzing it with a compression level indicator is provided as a dip stick.

Optional :

1. Extra gauges can be attached to the machine (max. 3nos.), for better accuracy and results.
2. Electrical connection can either be Single Phase on 220 V A.C., or Three Phase 440 V A.C.
3. Rectangular plates of various sizes on request.

Advanced Four Pillar Design

Engineered with a four pillar configuration, this compression testing machine guarantees structural stability and uniform load distribution during concrete specimen evaluation. The rigid frame and high-grade steel construction enhance durability, ensuring extensive use in laboratory environments.

Hydraulic Precision and Digital Control

Utilizing a hydraulic pressure pump, the system delivers precise compression with test speeds adjustable from 15 mm/min. Operators can choose between semi-automatic and manual control, taking advantage of the digital LCD display for accurate, instantaneous readings.

Certified Accuracy and Safety

Each machine comes supplied with a calibration certificate, confirming 1% measurement accuracy over a test range of 10 kN to 2000 kN. Built-in safety features like emergency stop and overload protection safeguard operators, while compliance with IS, ASTM, and BS standards ensures reliable test outcomes.

FAQs of 4 pillar Compression Testing Machine:

Q: How does the four pillar design benefit compression testing of concrete specimens?

A: The four pillar design provides maximum stability and even load distribution, minimizing sample distortion during testing. This structural approach ensures accurate results and reduces mechanical vibrations that could affect readings.

Q: What is the process for conducting a test using this machine?

A: To conduct a test, place a 150 mm cube specimen on the compression platen, set the required loading pace rate (up to 5 MPa/sec), and select your control mode (digital or manual). Initiate the test, monitor readings on the LCD display, and utilize emergency stop or overload protection as necessary for safety.

Q: When should calibration be performed and how is certification managed?

A: The machine is supplied with a calibration certificate upon purchase, calibrated to deliver 1% accuracy. For best practices, recalibration should be scheduled annually or after significant maintenance to ensure continued precision. Calibration records should be maintained in accordance with lab standards.

Q: Where is the optimal operating environment for this compression testing machine?

A: This equipment is designed for indoor laboratory settings with controlled conditions: humidity up to 85% RH and temperature between 5C and 40C. Placement should allow adequate clearance for specimen loading and operator access.

Q: What types of concrete specimens and test ranges are supported?

A: The machine supports single specimen testing of concrete cubes sized 150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm, with a test range from 10 kN to 2000 kN. Adjustable test speed (15 mm/min) accommodates various concrete strength levels.

Q: How does the hydraulic system improve compression testing efficiency?

A: The hydraulic pressure pump delivers uniform, smooth loading, reducing manual effort and ensuring consistent force application. Combined with digital controls, this enables operators to set specific test speeds and receive instantaneous results with high reliability.

Q: What are the main benefits for manufacturers and laboratory users?

A: Key advantages include high-precision measurement, certified accuracy, reliable safety interlocks, and compliance with international standards. Its robust construction and flexible control modes make it ideal for frequent, precise concrete strength evaluations.
