About MODEL SEDIMENTATION TANK

The apparatus is designed todemonstrate the hydraulic characteristics and settling efficiencies of a modelsettling basin. The apparatus consists of a Sedimentation Tank in which thewater is fed by overhead tank (available in user laboratory and not in scope ofsupply) at constant flow rate and is measured with the help of a Rotameter.

A complete unit for slurrycirculation in sedimentation tank also accompanies the set-up including a sumptank for slurry, a feed pump for slurry. Flow rate of slurry entering thesedimentation tank is metered by suitable device.

An accurate dye injection systemis provided to inject the known volume of dye in the sedimentation tank. Insedimentation tank a weir is fitted which facilitate to the entry of well mixedslurry of known concentration in sedimentation tank uniformly.
