In this unitprovisions are made to study the working conditions of Chopper with R, RL andMotor loads.

Main andauxiliary thyristor trigger pulses are brought out separately. Provisions forinternal and external triggering are also given. Both frequency and duty cyclevariations are provided. Firing unit comprising of pulse, ramp, comparator,timer, pulse amplifier and power circuit are internally built and test pointsare brought out at various stages. Two SCR's, two diodes, and LC commutation isprovided. SCR and diodes are protected from large current and dv/dt by means offuse and snubber circuit. DC field supply is internally built and brought outto run DC Motors. To observe the output signal on CRO, BNC connectors areprovided.
