About DROP WISE & FILM WISE CONDENSATION APPARATUS

Description:

Condensation is a phase changeheat transfer process occurring in many industrial applications, such as insteam power plants, refrigeration plants etc.

Thus this is one of the importantheat transfer process as present in mechanical and chemical engineeringapplications.

The condensation of vapour on asurface is of two types:

Drop wise Condensation,

Film wise Condensation.

This setup is designed fordetermining heat transfer co-efficient of two types of condensation and forvisualization of these processes.

It consists of a vertical frame.Condensation tubes are fitted inside compact glass cylinder.

Steam generator is fitted at thebackside of the cylinder.

Steam comes directly from generatorto the cylinder.

Digital Temperature Indicatormonitors the temperatures.

Pressure gauge and Rotameter canobserve steam pressure and cold water flow rates respectively

A Digital temperature Controlleris provided for controlling the temperature of Steam.
