About MEASUREMENT OF LEVEL BY CAPACITANCE METHOD APPARATUS

The present set-up is designed tostudy the working principle and calibration procedure of capacitance type leveltransmitter.

The set-up consists of a probewhich is mounted in a level tank with graduated scale.

Water is poured in the level tankmanually and response of the level transmitter is indicated on the LevelIndicator.

Output of the transmitter can bemeasured using Digital Current meter.

A drain valve is provided at thebottom of the level tank which enables the student to observe and measure theresponse of capacitance type level transmitter at different liquid heights.

The set-up is complete with Leveltank, level transmitter, current indicator and necessary piping.

All component and accessories areproperly mounted on the rigid MS structure and fitted on a base plate to form atable top set-up.

Experimentation/learning objectives:

To study of working principle andcalibration procedure of capacitance type level transmitter.

To study of linearity, accuracyand repeatability of capacitance type level transmitter.

Utilities required:

Electric supply: Single Phase,220 V AC, 5-15 amp combined socket with earth connection.

Earth voltage should be less than5 volts.

Water supply: Initial fill
