About Accelerated Curing Tank for Concrete Testing

Accelerated Curing Tank

Accelerated Curing tank shall be constructed from any material of suitable strength that will resist the effect of corrosion. Internal dimension should be adequate to accommodate the required number and size of test specimen. The tank shall contain sufficient water and be controlled so that temperature of water around the specimen immersed in the tank is maintained at the desired level.

EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM-To get the early age strength through accelerated curing, warm water method was adopted. In this method, after the casting of cubes, specimen was cured at normal temperature for 24 hours and then put in accelerated tank on second day with temperature 80 for 5 hours and then 80c to falling temperature up to next day. After this period of curing, concrete cube specimen was tested for compressive strength and results are co-related with 28 and 56 days compressive strength of standard water curing. This co relation of accelerated strength and normal curing strength is achieved for all types of cement. To find the confident level of these relation seven different types of cement were used. The composition of different types of Cement is given in table IV. For each type of cement four different were used. Mix design was prepared by ACI method.

High Precision Curing for Concrete Specimens

Experience reliable curing with digital temperature control and a built-in water recirculation system. The tank is equipped for accelerated curing cycles, supporting selection of 1, 2, or 5 hours for improved productivity. The durable double-walled, insulated chamber maintains consistent temperature, ensuring thorough curing for up to 9 cubes or 6 cylinders per batch.

Smart Safety and Efficient Design

The curing tank integrates essential safety features such as over-temperature protection and a visible water level indicator. With a removable handle-equipped lid and bottom drain plug, maintenance and specimen handling are straightforward. Its corrosion-resistant steel construction and anti-corrosive paint finish guarantee longevity even in demanding environments.

Optimized for Standard Concrete Testing

Ideal for laboratories and industrial use throughout India, this tank suits a variety of concrete specimen sizes (up to 150 mm width) and accelerates curing time with powerful 2 kW heating. The digital display offers immediate status of temperature, controlled manually or digitally, for accurate, repeatable results in semi-automatic operation.

FAQs of Accelerated Curing Tank for Concrete Testing:

Q: How does the Accelerated Curing Tank ensure uniform temperature throughout the chamber?

A: The tank utilizes a built-in water recirculation system and double-walled insulation with high-density glass wool to maintain even heat distribution. The digital temperature controller provides accurate adjustment up to 100C, ensuring consistent curing for all specimens.

Q: What types and sizes of concrete specimens can be tested in this tank?

A: It is designed to cure up to 6 cylinders (150 mm x 300 mm) or 9 cubes (150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm) per cycle, supporting specimens up to 150 mm in width. This accommodates standard concrete testing requirements for both research and industry use.

Q: When should the accelerated curing process be used for concrete samples?

A: Accelerated curing is recommended when rapid strength assessment is needed, typically during quality assurance or production control. The selectable curing times of 1, 2, or 5 hours make it suitable for tests requiring prompt results.

Q: Where is the tank best installed and operated?

A: This floor-mounted tank is suited for laboratory environments, manufacturing plants, and testing facilities. Its sturdy design and corrosion-resistant finish support reliable operation across distribution, export, and supplier scenarios throughout India.

Q: What process does the tank use to accurately cure concrete specimens?

A: The tank maintains water at the desired temperature, circulating it to keep specimens submerged under uniform conditions. The immersion heater rapidly heats the water, while thermostatic control and digital display allow for precise temperature and timing adjustments.

Q: How does the safety feature protect users and equipment during operation?

A: Safety is ensured through over-temperature protection, which automatically prevents the system from exceeding the set temperature limit. The water level indicator helps maintain optimal water levels, while the removable lid and bottom drain plug facilitate safe specimen handling and cleaning.

Q: What are the primary benefits of using this Accelerated Curing Tank for concrete testing?

A: Benefits include shorter curing times, reliable test accuracy with 1C temperature control, high specimen capacity, and robust safety features. Its corrosion-resistant construction and easy maintenance make it a valuable asset for consistent and efficient concrete quality assessment.
